Abstract

This experiment was conducted in three locations in Covington, Jasper, and Newton Counties in south Mississippi. Each location consisted of three replications. Each replication was about 1000 ft1 consisting of 10 active fire ant mounds. Treatments were made on 12, 7, and 6 Jun in Covington, Jasper, and Newton Counties, respectively. A second treatment was made on 12, 8, and 8 Jul in Covington, Jasper, and Newton Counties, respectively. Granular formulations were applied as mound treatments. Imported fire ant hill density was determined by visual observation. Pretreatment counts were made the same day of treatment and four posttreatment counts were made encompassing about 7, 14, 30, and 41 DAT.
