Abstract

This book is composed of 14 papers (abstracted separately) divided between three main sections. The first section covers earthquakes and contains papers on the area's seismicity, its relations with fossil plate boundaries and the Guinea earthquake of December 1983. The papers of the second section all deal with the Lake Nyos gas disaster, its causes and the possibility of similar events happening elsewhere. The final section deals with landslides and erosion with examples from Nigeria. -A.W.Hall
