The thermodynamics of isobutane dehydrogenation reaction was investigated thoroughly using most reliable literature data. Conversion and reaction mixture distribution at equilibrium were computed for various process conditions. Reaction enthalpy, ΔRHoT, ranges between 122±1.1 and 123±1.2 kJ.mol-1 over the temperature 773.15 to 923.15 K where the equilibrium constant KT value varies between 0.12±0.03 and 2.6±0.7. The reaction becomes thermodynamically favorable at temperatures higher than 873.15 K.
