Abstract

Varying demand and supply mark challenges for production planning. Particularly in seasonal environments, the major part of production concentrates in short periods of time during the year. The volume of demand and supply and the timing of the seasonal changes are hard to predict. In the following, different braches that unterly seasonal fluctations are presented. Based on expert interviews causes for seasonalities are classified and practices for an adequate handling are explained.
