Abstract

Manufacturing industry faces many challenges in the quest for improved competitiveness, reduced component costs and the requirement to 'Adopt or Decline'. The adoption refers to the new technologies of computer aided manufacturing and industrial robots. This paper addresses the feature improvements now available in today's advanced computer controlled robots and identifies that the real solution is to face the challenge and adopt the robot technology for the vast range of applications now operating throughout the industrialised world.
