Abstract

Ayurvedic eating principles reflect the knowledge that a food consumed under stressful conditions may lead to undesired effects, and at the same it also reflects the notion that such stressful conditions may alter the eating behavior of an individual. As a clinical science, Ayurveda suggests certain measures to observe regularly while eating. It is surprising to note that all measures recommended in Ayurveda in reference to eating are simply an assurance that food may be consumed in a healthy environment and in a healthy mood. It is obvious that to ensure this, one must keep stress away from the dining table, which is the objective of Ayurveda's principles of eating.
