Abstract

The complexities inherent in navigating the vicissitudes of professional life whilst nurturing a large family are considered in this chapter. Drawing on lessons learned from three decades of experience in the education sector whilst presiding maternally over a growing family of children and grandchildren, considered observations are presented which attempt to deconstruct the mystique of concurrently managing two interdependent pedagogical roles.
