Abstract

Introduces a special issue of the Journal of Human Rights and the Environment commenting on the outcomes, and the perceived failure, of the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (Rio+20) held in June 2012. Suggests how the outcomes of the conference can be viewed pessimistically and optimistically.
