Abstract

Regulation on the quality of health care services in general and clinical genetic testing in Europe is carried out at national level. • The Additional Protocol on genetic testing to the Biomedicine Convention contains provisions to guarantee the quality of genetic services in Member States of the Council of Europe • While respecting the wide variety of different systems, the European Union wants its Member States to define clear quality and safety standards for health care provided on their territory
