Abstract

The article discusses patron-driven acquisition (PDA) methods by academic libraries for the collection development of electronic books (ebooks). The article discusses the implementation of technology by Ebrary library services company at Stetson University in Florida to guide PDA strategies. Topics include the role of college teachers in driving the acquisitions of ebooks, the collection development undertaken by academic librarians in contrast with books requested by teaching faculty, as well as several tables offering information about PDA collection development at Stetson University.
