Abstract

Software product lines (SPL) are a development paradigm focused on reducing costs through improved organization productivity and enhanced process quality. After careful analysis of existing SPL development methods, we noted that most of them do not provide a sound answer to some typical concerns - e.g. accurate business/domain analysis or efficient change management - of developing business information systems. Therefore, we decided to go forward to an SPL methodology definition that encompasses methods, activities and applicable technologies. The goal of this paper is to present our research approach and the main outcome of our work, an SPL oriented methodology (SPLUP)especially suited for business information systems development. © 2011 Springer-Verlag.
