Abstract

It is an effective method to determine the internal defects of wood and improve the utilization of wood products by correctly analyzing the received stress wave signal. In this paper, ensemble empirical mode decomposition algorithm is used to denoise the received stress wave signal. Then the correlation function between the two signals is solved, thus, can accurately obtain the propagation time of stress wave signal in the timber, which provides the basis for the nondestructive testing of wood. The results show, the non-destruction testing of wood technology can obtain the accurate time-delay estimation in the environment of high noise. © 2012 Springer-Verlag.
