Abstract

Young companies or Born Global, have had a significant impact on the new dynamics of the internationalization of the economy. The objective of this article is to analyze Born Global within the Colombian business context, and in attention to the factors and strategies that may be applicable in small and medium-sized companies in the department of Córdoba. This descriptive-analytical research, supported by sources consulted in the database and by some empirical studies at an international and national level, emphasizes the factors and strategies that can be applied to young companies in Cordoba, which are 82, 7% of the total, and about their innovation and competitiveness in general. The results obtained show that the Cordovan region presents a very low level of export competitiveness or sophistication, when compared to the other departments of the country, therefore, the Born Global in Córdoba, must potentiate their capacities, skills and resources towards greater competitiveness in the global market. It is concluded that these companies must consider the characteristics of the entrepreneur, entrepreneurial cognition, knowledge factors, technology and innovation, business capacities and technological networks, to conquer new markets at an international level.
