Abstract

In future, NASA’s plan is to launch several satellites in the low Earth orbit (LEO). It has been planning to establish a direct link from LEO to the ground station with the help of relay satellite which is present in GEO. As it requires high data rates for uplink and downlink, all the parameters regarding antennas, signals, links were taken into account. The conception of inter-satellite optical wireless communication (IsOWC) using 12 transponders and 24 transponders system is simulated using Optisystem software. The results of Q-factor, bit error rate (BER) and threshold were measured and analyzed for all scenarios in order to optimize IsOWC of 12 and 24 transponders performance.
