Abstract

Propofol TIVA results in a clinically relevant reduction of PONV v. isoflurane–NO anesthesia (NNT=6). Both otherwise similar. Anesthesia costs were >3x greater for propofol TIVA, without economic gains from shorter stay in the postanesthesia care unit.
