Abstract

1) No directed dispersal for animal-dispersed spp. Seed rain of cecropia is very uneven. 2) Dispersal and seedling emergence of some gap dependent species occurs at the most favorable time, shortly before the annual peak in treefalls to colonize new gaps. 3) Seed bank, seedling bank, and sapling bank. ..Review + data on seedling emergence in gaps.
