Abstract

Worldwide, strongly increasing trends towards the use of mobile services can be seen in almost all areas of society, economy and administration. A secure eID service is the user’s key to mobile online services. Many branches are recognizing this. The research project OPTIMOS 2.0 develops an open SE-based ecosystem for mobile services. This supports a straight forward approach for mobile eID apps that covers all requirements and recommendations given by the EU’s eIDAS directive. Different usage scenarios for secure mobile services are possible. The number and roles of stakeholders are very complex – especially by addressing several markets. The paper presents the generic approach to establish business and billing models for the involved stakeholders on a multi-sided platform. This includes the Platform Business Model Canvas, the more comprehensive Business Model Canvas and a Morphological Matrix.
