Abstract

Plug flow regime in immiscible liquid-liquid flow in a T-shaped microchannel is experimentally studied in the present work. For three different immiscible liquids plug length is measured using high-speed visualization of the flow. Micro-PIV technique is applied for instantaneous velocity field measurements in plugs. Velocity circulation in plugs is calculated for different bulk flow rates.
