Abstract

A method for the selective synthesis of amidines by ring-opening amination or of 7-aminomethylbenzoxazoles via a novel three-component-coupling reaction (arene, dichloromethane and amine) from benzoxazoles and amines was developed. Amidines could be further converted into 2-aminobenzoxazoles in high yield. Copyright © 2012 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim.
