This chapter tries to explain higher education development in East Asian from Confucianism and discusses whether the model for higher education development is a unique and the model could be sustainable in the long run. Based on these discussions, this chapter concludes that higher education is at the crossroads in the post-massified stage in East Asian countries. The future of higher education in East Asia depends on whether these countries successfully address some challenges they are facing with, and whether they develop new models in the new stage.
