Abstract

Total station used mainly for the correct position construction of sheet pile or of elevated bridge has problems of hard guarantee of collimate line, increased error by long distance observation and difficulty of dynamic observation. Accordingly, this research applied RTK-GPS to the sheet pile construction on the sea hard to make a precise measure with total station as it dynamically moves or has the farther distance of collimation for more efficient construction, and compared the construction result and drawing for the precise evaluation of sheet pile construction with RTK-GPS used. As a research result, it reduced the construction period highly than the existing method of total station used, and installed the sheet pile at a deviation of 0.1m from the drawing for the efficient construction of sheet pile with RTK-GPS used. It is expected to make the rapid and precise utilization of RTK-GPS for the sheet pile construction in order to improve the soft ground. © 2012 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
