Thermal Analysis of Glass-Ceramics and Composites in Biomedical and Dental Sciences

Abstract

In this chapter, thermal analysis techniques are discussed concerning glass-ceramics and composites in the fields of Biomedical and Dental Sciences. A brief description of how thermal analysis techniques are applied in those fields, as well as their basic principles are described. Fundamental properties of glass-ceramics and composites for dental prosthetic restorations, glass-ceramics for regenerative medicine and dental nanocomposite resins are analyzed through cases presentation.
