Abstract

With the increase in the need for actions related to slowing down the advancement of climate change impacts, aligned with the call for a more sustainable development through the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, the assurance of ways to mitigate and assess the impact of human activities, such as transportation, is much needed. Over the years, frameworks that enable the implementation of sustainable development have been developed, like the Green Bonds, but to evaluate the applicability of mitigation actions related to the Green Bonds, and to precisely measure mitigation actions, indicators are used as reliable sources of information. Thus, this study aims to map, through a review of the literature, mitigation actions and the respective indicators that are, directly or indirectly, related to the Green Bond Principles, pertaining to the transportation sector. The mitigation actions and indicators may serve as a guide for the decision-makers, both in the public and private sectors, to assure the application of the Green Bond Principles and sustainability in the transportation sector.
