Abstract

Chloroplastic Trx f is known to regulate several Calvin-cycle enzymes controlling sugar metabolism. In this work, we study the sugardependent regulation of chloroplastic Trx f when pea plants are fed with different sugars. Sucrose depresses the photosynthesis rate and decreases mRNA for Trx f. On the contrary, glucose and fructose increased TRX f expression. Trx f promoter shows Dof-like elements that are related to the sugar-dependent transcriptional regulation.
