Abstract

This invention creates the novel function such that a wheelchair may travel up and down the height of a building without having to transfer to a chairlift, while also not requiring a specific specialized wheelchair to travel up or down a building story level. This invention utilizes an escalator, such that this adaptor platform bolts into one singular escalator step, to which the width of this devise is slightly narrower than the escalator step, while whose length can be predetermined to accommodate most wheelchairs, or as determined by the escalator owner to meet their specific needs. It operator on the premise that "pressure resistance" causes the escalator to come to a full stop once in the complete top or bottom location. The escalator would operate at the "slowest speed", or as determined by any local safety standard authority. Similarly, the devise would meet any local safety standard authority requirements, for things like, "cautionary yellow line strip", "roll stop raised edging", slid resistance topping", "thickness and strength required to prevent bending of the adaptor platform itself', or any other specific safety standard requirements. This devise can accommodate persons with cans, walkers, baby strollers, travelling luggage, scooters for the disabled and of course wheelchairs. The material would be made of steel or metal like composite such to prevent bending, cracking, or breaking and to withhold the required weight to accommodate a scooter, or a wheelchair with the average weighted person.
