Abstract

Three patients with a diastolic murmur associated with coronary artery stenosis are described. The source of the murmur was conclusively proved in the first case, and in the other patients the murmur and coronary angiographic findings were identical. The characteristics of the murmur and its mechanism of production are described. Since the three patients were all seen within a six-month period, this sign is probably not a rarity. It is concluded that the diastolic murmur is an important indicator of non-critical stenosis of the left anterior descending coronary artery.
