Abstract

Jaundice is clinically detectable when bilirubin is >50 μmol/L (≡3 mg/dL) Up to 60% of infants will be jaundiced in the first week of life. 1 in 50-100 infants will have persistence of jaundice at >2 weeks. 1-4/1,000 infants will have conjugated jaundice. © 2010 Springer-Verlag London.
