Abstract

Analyses three decades of Latin American integration with reference to the characteristics of the different regional, subregional and bilateral agreements adopted since the end of the 1950s. Links the unfulfilled aims of the integration schemes, the deficiencies of national economic policies, the tensions derived from political change in the region and problems of external finance. -R.N.Gwynne
