Experiments on Using LOD Cloud Datasets to Enrich the Content of a Scientific Knowledge Base

Abstract

This paper describes the issues arising when employing the Linked Open Data (LOD) cloud datasets to enrich the content of a scientific knowledge base as well as the approaches to solving them. The experiments are carried out with the help of a toolkit intended to simplify the analysis and integration of data from different datasets. The toolkit comprises several tools for application-specific visualization. The dataset of the Open Archive of the Russian Academy of Sciences and several bibliographic datasets are used as test examples. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2013.
