Abstract

In February and March 2022, the city of Petrópolis-RJ was affected by heavy rains that triggered a series of landslides in several locations, especially in its central region, the area of the municipality most affected by these events. These geological accidents combined represent the biggest disaster that occurred in the city until then, culminating in a total of 241 victims and innumerable inhabitants homeless. Since the incident, the Department of Civil Defense of the Municipality of Petrópolis has been responding to several occurrences associated with the consequences of the events described, with the recording of relevant aspects in the database of a management system. This article seeks to establish an analysis of the data gathered about occurrences throughout the city of Petrópolis in order to present an overview of this great tragedy.
