Key Points Chile has been successful in reducing infant mortality and malnutrition in recent decades. Targeted health, nutrition, and education programs have been key for this reduction. Results show that to be successful, a nutrition and health policy must adapt to the socioeconomic strategy of the government. Food distributed by health centers has improved attendance of the public to those centers and can be used for other health-related measures. School feeding programs have decreased school desertion in Chile.
