Abstract

This study uses an instructional game called “Recreating Assembly Line in a Paper Airplane Factory” to illustrate the effectiveness of game-based learning in higher education. The author describes the game design, its procedures, and the post-game survey. Then, the author uses Lederman and Ruben’s [7] Systematic Assessment of Communication Games criteria to summarize the insights from game-based instruction and how such instructional methods support undergraduate learning in organizational communication classrooms. Last, the author shares a few insights for using games in higher education.
