Abstract

But if we cannot deny that there is an intuition of probability in the normal civilized adult, and if we cannot correctly compare the role of this intuition to that of several practical operations such as number and space, there are nevertheless two questions which must be asked at the start: Is such an intuition in-born or does it develop later and, if so, how is it acquired?(Piaget &Inhelder, 195111975, p. xiv)
