A method for parallelization of Monte Carlo simulations of 2 d lattice systems is proposed, in which lattice is distributed and processed among parallel processes. Two ways of distributing the lattice are proposed. In the first one the lattice is divided into stripes of equal width, whereas in the second one the lattice is splitted into blocks of minimum perimeter. Communication between processes is handled by remote memory access MPI-2 protocols, but results for standard MPI-1 communication are also presented for comparison. The scalability of proposed method is tested on high performance multicomputers and discussed on the basis of speedup and efficiency.
