Objectives: To evaluate the effect of video recording system in nursing simulation practice. Methods: Nursing students in the experimental group (n = 69) participated in the video recording feedback. And the control group (n = 70) participated in the normal teaching methods. Differences of learning competency, communication skills and satisfaction between two groups were measured. Results: Students in the experimental group got significantly higher scores in catheterization, communication skills, and satisfaction. Conclusion: This study indicates that the video recording feedback is potentially a useful tool to enhance nursing students' learning in a simulated environment. © Springer Science+Business Media Dordrecht 2014.
