Abstract

The article reports on the real estate industry in China. In China the land policy allows developers who know influential people and government officials to force relocations and profit. Chen Yun and his company Parcels of Land paid $360,000 for 7 acres of land which was taken by Tang Wenfeng, a government official, for the "public interest" and given to another developer. In 2008 several government officials were taken to court for corruption including Wenfeng.
