Abstract

A decade after having adhered to the agreement of the World Trade Organization (WTO) concerning Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights (TRIPS), 10 countries of Latin America and the Caribbean have signed free trade agreements (FTA) with the United States, which contain extensive chapters on intellectual property which go beyond the TRIPS Agreement of 1994. © 2010 Springer-Verlag New York.
