Abstract

The article discusses the authenticity of the corporate social responsibility ( CSR) practiced by tobacco companies in Indonesia. Discussion of the health effects of tobacco and the initiative of tobacco firms to look for sophisticated ways to promote themselves as socially responsible enterprise is provided. A study which claims that CSR activities in such firms have reinforced smoking behavior among smokers, motivating doubt the purpose of their CSR activities is mentioned.
