Abstract

Goal: To analyze the current status of domestic legislation and analyze foreign experience in countering the proliferation of sexual information directed to children over the Internet, to identify the positive trends that can be implemented in domestic legislation. Methodology: The problems of the research were resolved through a comprehensive, complete and objective analysis of the norms, Russian, international and foreign legislation, law enforcement practice and studies of principled works of leading scholars in the field of information relations. Results: It has been found that the main objective for all states consists in awareness raising in parents with a view to teaching them to communicate with their children in a positive and efficient manner on all occasions. Originality/Value: The authors have put forward the main lines of action according to which Russia and foreign countries should develop and coordinate cooperation between public authorities and civic society for preventing and combating sexual exploitation and abuse of children on the Internet.
