Abstract

Novel Schiff base chelate of Cu(II) derived from anthracene-9 (10H)-one with (s)-2-amino-5-guanidinopentanoic acid has been synthesized. The ligand and complex were characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductance, magnetic susceptibility and UV,IR, NMR spectroscopic techniques. The redox properties of the ligand and complex were extensively investigated by electrochemical method using cyclic voltammetry (CV).Cyclic voltammetric measurement of Cu(II) complex display quasireversible redox process due to the Cu(II)/Cu(I) process.
