Abstract

This commentary briefly outlines characteristics of Peace Journalism (PJ), and then summarises ways that PJ could inspire justice and crisis-oriented climate journalism, including ethical moorings, audience ori;entation, journalism practices, self-reflexivity and scepticism of the practices of ‘objectivity’. While there are also important disjunctures between them, particularly around advocacy, partisanship and conflict escalation, both para;digms have liberal and radical variants. The author concludes with a note on structural media change as a corequisite of either paradigm’s implementation.
