DINAMIKA YAYASAN SOSIAL KRISTEN SALIB PUTIH (YSKSP) DI KELURAHAN KUMPULREJO, KECAMATAN ARGOMULYO, KOTA SALATIGA

Abstract

One of the social inheritance of the Dutch colonial government in the City of Salatiga was carried out by an evangelical couple of different nationalities from the Leger des Heils (Salvation Army), namely Adolph Theodoor Jocobus van Emmerick (Netherlands) and Alice Cornelia Cleverly (England). Their role began when Mount Kelud erupted in 1901. The social made by Adolph and his wife became the forerunner of the founding of the Yayasan Sosial Kristen Salib Putih (YSKSP). This research is located in Kumpulrejo Sub-District of Argomulyo District, Salatiga. The method used in this study is a critical historical method which consists of four stages, namely heuristics, source criticism (verification), interpretation, and historiography. Based on study, the presence of churches, nursing homes, orphanage, and plantations in the White Cross area cannot be separated from the role of Adolph and Alice. The foundation that he developed initially only focused on social services for the welfare of the people.Salah satu warisan sosial pemerintah kolonial Belanda di Kota Salatiga dilakukan oleh pasangan suami-istri penginjil berbeda kebangsaan dari Leger des Heils (Bala Keselamatan), yaitu Adolph Theodoor Jocobus van Emmerick (Belanda) dan Alice Cornelia Cleverly (Inggris). Peran mereka diawali ketika Gunung Kelud meletus tahun 1901. Pengabdian sosial yang dilakukan Adolph dan istrinya inilah yang menjadi cikal bakal berdirinya Yayasan Sosial Kristen Salib Putih (YSKSP). Penelitian ini dilakukan di Kelurahan Kumpulrejo, Kecamatan Argomulyo, Kota Salatiga. Adapun metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode sejarah kritis yang terdiri atas empat tahap, yaitu heuristik, kritik sumber (verifikasi), interprestasi, dan historiografi. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa keberadaan gereja, panti wreda, panti asuhan, dan perkebunan di kawasan Salib Putih tidak dapat dilepaskan dari peran Adolph dan Alice. Yayasan yang dikembangkannya ini awalnya hanya fokus kepada pelayanan sosial untuk kesejahteraan umat.
