Abstract

Social behavior is ubiquitous in the animal kingdom, occurring whenever individuals of a species interact. In this article, we discuss the implications of sociality for understanding key aspects of behavioral ecology, including foraging behavior, territoriality, mating behavior, and the structure of societies.
