Abstract

The key to any successful research work depends on overcoming the barriers in the path of the researchers. The upcoming researchers are often being dissuaded in their domain area from the physiological, mental and physical impacts of the research barriers which are being faced by them. The research being carried out gets impacted by the barriers. The cases of young researchers not been able to produce the desired outcome and hence being stressed out are numerous. It is therefore imperative to identify, analyze and categorize the research barriers, so as to adequately address them. This study brings to light the major barriers that hinder the efforts to undertake research endeavors by young computer science enthusiasts. Interpretive structural modeling has been used to rank the barriers accordingly to their driving and dependent power. The study reveals that ‘Lack of time for research due to other commitments’ and ‘Difficulty in accessing the paid research Papers’ are the major driving barriers to research. The research is an attempt to help the researchers by giving them a detailed insight of what they must prepare on for fruitful results.
