Abstract

Systemic theories are not able to explain the origin of schizophrenia. A genetic causality is definitely a necessary condition. The role of gene in schizophrenia is to be fully understood with implication of new concepts such as epigenomic imprinting. Viable models should leave room for environmental factors interacting with a genetic predisposition. The author presumes that the etiology of schizophrenia appears with the homo sapiens.
