Abstract

There is a growing recognition that supply chain management (SCM) offers significant opportunities for firms to create strategic advantage and achieve mutually beneficial performance outcomes. So, academic filed and practice filed pay more attention on the basic elements of SCM. Coordination and information sharing are the popular elements in SCM.With the development of economy, environmental issues involve in SCM and affect numerous SCM decision. Environmental considerations are in all activities of whole supply chain. A more full and comprehensive understanding of SCM are needed. This paper looks into the new thought of SCM around environment, and discusses the context of SCM regarding environment. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2014.
