Abstract

As the means of safe transportation between Earth and Mars is technically developed, one of the outcomes will likely be assisted colonization of Mars. In this chapter we shall exemplify potential actions under a suite of possible future Mars settlement scenarios. The focus is on the means of providing human colonies with a vital resource: water. © 2009 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
