Abstract

In the present study an analysis of the relative abundance and diversity of birds in the Pucushuclo wetland was ca- rried out, which is located in the district of San Juan de Is- cos, province of Chupaca, Junin deparment. The wetland is at altitude of 3240 m.a.s.l. A transect count was made during the beginning of summer, a total of 11 species were recorded. Fulica ardesiaca and Bubulcus ibis were the most representative. The Simpson index indicated that the lagoon has a medium diversity and with the Shannon index indicated that Pucush Uclo had a normal specific biodiversity.
