Abstract

This paper first introduces the significance and characteristics of online collaborative learning assessment. Based on the practice of online course "Intercultural Communication" delivered by Blackboard learning system, it explores how to assess the process and outcomes of individual learning and group learning. The result indicates that assessment is part of learning and it can be integrated into the design of online course and collaborative activities. The system tools, effective rubric and developed assessment indicator system can effectively assess the process and outcomes of collaborative learning and assessment can promote collaborative learning and reflection. © 2012 Springer-Verlag.
