Cerambícidos (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae) del bosque tropical caducifolio en Santiago Dominguillo, Oaxaca, Mexico

Abstract

The results of a study of the fauna of cerambycids of the tropical dry forest of Santiago Dominguillo, c Oaxaca, México are presented. The study was carried out between November, 1997 and October, 1998. Collections were carried out during 5 days of every month and the collection methods included light trapping, Malaise trapping and direct collecting. A total of 97 species, 64 genera, 32 tribes and 4 subfamilies were recorded. The subfamily with the greatest number of species was Cerambycinae with 59, followed by Lamiinae with 36 and Lepturinae y Prioninae with 1 respectively. The tribes with the largest number of genera and species were Elaphidiini with 9 and 17, Acanthocinini with 8 and 12, and Trachyderini with 7 and 9 respectively. The genera with most species were Rhopalophora with 6 y Eburia, Aneflomorpha, Stenosphenus and Estoloides with 4. Richness value using a non-parametric estimator was 134 species. Species abundance pattern show a few very abundant species and many with few individuals. The diversity index was H= 3.59. Species richness and abundance were variable: highest values were recorded in the rainy season and the lowest values in the dry season. The faunal compositions include 46% species endemic to Mexico.
